Shade Trees of Bethlehem

Gia Gast, graduating Lehigh University senior, will be giving a thought-provoking presentation on her study of the distribution of shade trees in Bethlehem on Sunday afternoon, May 5th; 2 -3 pm in the HST Community Room. Presented by Citizens Climate Lobby-Lehigh Valley (CCL-LV)'s Forest Committee and interested members partnered with Central Moravian's Care4Creation Committee.

André Chappatte Public Talk: "Migratory Adventure and Religious Experiences in a Provincial Malian Town"

André Chappatte is an assistant professor of anthropology at the Global Studies Institute, University of Geneva. He has conducted more than four years of fieldwork between southern Mali, Ivory Coast, and eastern Guinea. His multiple lines of research (e.g. Muslim life; ethics; nightlife; Chinese products) take as their starting point the moral becoming of human experience in West African societies. His analysis is influenced by social thought, human geography, and phenomenological writing.

Leonardo's Lost Robots

Engineer and author holds over 30 patents in robot technology and has published a number of books on the subject. In this talk, he will present his reconstruction of Leornardo's Programmable Automata for the 40th annual Lettura Vinciana at the Biblioteca Leornardinia in VInci, Italy. This event is free and open to the public.
