"Moral Combat": 2017 Connell Lecture

The Annual Richard O. and Cindy F. Connell Lecture proudly presents Dr. R. Marie Griffith, with her lecture “Moral Combat: Twenty-First Century Politics and the Fracturing of American Christianity,” on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 8:00 p.m., in the Scheler Humanities Forum, Linderman Library, room 200.  

Prof. Griffith is a frequent media commentator and public speaker on current issues pertaining to religion and politics, including the changing profile of American evangelicals and ongoing conflicts over gender, sexuality and marriage.

Prof. Griffith is the John C. Danforth Distinguished Professor in the Humanities, at Washington University, in St. Louis.   She is the director of the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics and the editor of the Center’s journal, Religion & Politics.   Her upcoming book, Moral Combat: How Sex Divided American Christians and Fractured American Politics, is scheduled for the fall 2017.
